International Nail Art Day And My 100th Blog Post!!!!

HELLOOOOOOO! I hope everyone's Saturday is going awesome! As many of you know, today is International Nail Art Day or INAD! I thought it was pretty flippin' awesome that this day just happened to coincide with my 100th blog post so I did something extra special!

For this mani, I painted a base of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White on and then stamped over that with Konad black pearl and Mash plate 47. I just got my Konad polish and I'm not sure how I lived without it! It makes such beautiful, clean lines and stamps like a dream! After stamping the image onto my nails, I then went in with acrylic paint for all of the lovely color you see!

The lighting in the next two pics is a little weird but I think they really show off the design so I included them anyway!

What do you guys think? Was this worthy of a 100th post ceremony? Thank you so much to all of you that have put up with me this long - I hope you stay tuned in because (hopefully) I'm just going to keep getting better!

MASH Nail Art Pens Mani

Hey everyone! I'm still alive - just seem to constantly run out of hours in a day!

I was so excited when MASH Nails contacted me and asked if I would like to review some of their products. I didn't have any clue what was going to come in this package so when I opened it and found, among other goodies, these nail art pens, I was pretty excited! I have always wanted to try out nail art pens but just haven't gotten around to trying any out. I've heard that they could be hard to work with and clog easily but I really liked these!! To get them started, you press the tip on a firm surface but I will warn you to be very careful. The black pen took a couple of presses but the first time I pressed the pink one, I ended up with a whole puddle of polish!

They have a nice, firm tip that's very fine pointed and as long as I took my time, I never had to go back over any of the areas to make it opaque, they worked like a dream! I certainly can't see myself replacing any polish with nail art pens but it could certainly be handy to have some basic colors around, especially for text! When I wrote "Love", it was like writing with a felt-tip marker!

I was also sent some of MASH's matte top coat and I really love the finish! It was more of a satin finish and was really, really smooth!

I also tested these pens out a week later and they are still working like a champ - yay! What do you think? At $5.99, they are mid-priced and I can see myself paying that for black, silver, gold and white! They would make adding little touches easy-peasy!

Golden Snake Stamp Nails

Hello pretties! Just a quick post today because work is completely crazy! This fun little mani uses China Glaze Foie Gras as a base color and then I used Revlon Golden for the stamping color with Mash plate 43. Do you like? Well too bad, it's all you're getting! Well, gotta run, ta-ta for now!

The Lazy 15 Mani #10 - Mythical Creatures

Happy Friday lovelies! I hope all of my American friends had a lovely Thanksgiving! I ate too much as usual so it was good!

I was pretty excited about this challenge and knew exactly what I was going to do for this one and I even had a sweet prop to pose with! I got this dagger years ago because I have a fascination with Asian decor and dragons. I really hope you guys love this as much as I do because this is one of my favorites!

The polishes I used was OPI Alpine Snow for the base and then I sponged on a gradient of 3 different Revlons - Golden, Bonsai and Rain Forest. I then stamped over that with Wet 'n Wild Black Creme and Mash plate 48. I don't usually go with these types of colors but I thought they were much more "dragon-like" than my usual pinks and purples!

Please be sure to check out the other challengers! :)

Julep Gayle and Some Stampin'!

Hello my little schmoopie-woopies! Can you tell I'm goofy today? If you can't it's because you're a weirdo like me - CONGRATULATIONS!!!

It seems like I always have to apologize for something in my manis and this one is no different. The top coat I was using is one I've only had for about 3 weeks but for some reason it has decided to really thicken up and I don't do anything halfway so when I slapped my usual thick coat on it left ugly bubbles on my otherwise lovely mani! *sniff, sniff* No worries though, I have since replaced her and moved on!

On to the mani... The base was 1 coat of Gayle from Julep. Oh. My. I think I moaned while putting this baby on! This polish is so gorgeous and applies like a dream! I hope all Juleps are that way because momma is in love!!! The only thing I will say is that if I would have known how pigmented she was, I would have been much more careful when I was painting because she was a real pain to get off the skin!  Here is a shot of Gayle alone and one of her mattified just for giggles!

Then I used Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in No Hard Feelings and stamped over Gayle with Mash plate 41. I'm loving the second set of Mash plates. I had the first set and was very disappointed because none of the full nail designs were big enough but they are so much better with the second set! Here's a couple pics of the final mani complete with air bubbles!!

I really want to try a water marble very soon but with the baby I don't usually get more than 20 minutes at a time to do my nails and I do NOT want to be interrupted in the middle of a water marble! Until next time - God bless!
